Analysis and interpretation of music Hallelujah

Stanza 1

So, you know that there is a secret melody
That Davi tocou, and isso agradou or senhor
But you don't care a lot with music, does it matter?
E ela soa assim, a quarta, a quinta
A lower I fall and a higher sovereign
O rei stunned I compose Hallelujah

The first verse refers to David's psalms and also his own music, being considered metalinguistic.

Hallelujah This is a way to start or finish the psalms, which are credited to Davi. A fourth and fifth, a minor and a major, are the notes of the musical scale that form the melody of the music itself and the choir do Hallelujah.

Stanza 2

Your faith was great but you need to have a prova
Você a viu banhando-se no terraço
Sua beauty and the light of the lua conquering you
She loved you in a cadeira de cozinha
She broke her throne, and cut her hair
And two serious lips of her the sketch to hallelujah

Ace Biblical references Prosseguem na second stanza. O banho no terraço is ainda about Davi who, to see a woman being banned, turns off because of her beauty and commits an adult like her, or who displeases or Senhor.

At the instância following is a reference to the history of Sansão and Delilah. Sansão was a judge of Israel endowed with a super-human force that was given the Holy Spirit to fight the Philistines. He marries Delilah, who is philistine. The short hair of Sansão, which was the origin of her strength, and the husband or wife of her immigrant children.

We have two important references to the Bible that fall into disgrace because of their misgivings. O Psalm 51 is not what Davi shows or his repentance for sin of adulthood, pede forgiveness to Deus and is known as "O chapter of repentance."

A possible interpretation is that all passage refers to Davi, understood by his character and his intelligence. When she commits treason, she loses part of her force in her kingdom of justice, therefore, it is the sin that arises in two most beautiful songs of the Old Testament.

Stanza 3

You say that you use it or not me em vão
More eu nem mesmo sei o nome
Mas se eu disse, bem, or what does isso mean to you?
There is a light in every word
It does not matter which of the você ouviu
To holy Hallelujah or to departure

Na third stanza, Cohen reference or third commandment: "You will not use meu nome em vão". In the Jewish tradition, it is not allowed to fail or name of Deus, being replaced by other terms. Porém, according to some scholars, or name of Deus was impronunciável, not being possible to vocalize it.

Nesses verses or questionamento do use do nome de Deus vai de found as louvor do "Hallelujah". The author affirms that every word has a light source, or that it can justify or use any word, just as it is prohibited.

O louvor à Deus ("Hallelujah") pode ter também or sense of dor's lament, as in the case of Psalm 51.

Stanza 4

Eu fiz meu melhor, but not enough
I could not feel, then I tried to touch
Eu havia dito a verdade, eu não vim here to deceive you
And the same that everyone has given wrong
Eu vou show me diante da music do Senhor
Sem nada na minha langue além de Hallelujah

A last stanza is a confissão na qual o author reveals your faults, in the absence of sensitivities, he does not allow himself to experience deeply the emotions, in the need of touching. He made it clear that his goal was not to cheat anything.

No final, indifferent to the results, he shows his faith, regardless of what happens, he prostrates himself to the music of Deus.

Meaning of music Hallelujah

Hallelujah is a music about faith and spirituality, with many questions about religiosity. A song has a narrator in the first person who addresses a recipient and a choir that performs "Hallelujah". This narrator asks some time or recipient, who seems to be the holder of two religious dogmas, rather than having a lot of faith.

Or author Fala two sins and give temptations em que o Guy I fell, using biblical passages as references. He sees em unhappy because of his desire for him, assim like Davi.

Na final stanza, or author assumes the serious mistakes of him and regrets them. His own lack of faith is set in motion when he assumes he has not been able to feel. Porém no final he prostrates himself before the music of Deus.

Leonard Cohen grows in a Jewish family and, logo does not come from his life, shows interest in theology and not the Old Testament. We can observe this interest throughout this song and all its references to the Old Testament.

Mais velho Cohen became a Buddhist, I have lived in a temple. Or chorus of "Hallelujah" that is repeated a little time, not the end of the music, we face a Buddhist mantra.

Additional verses by Jeff Buckley

Music has other versions and was recorded by various artists. Among these verses stands out the brilliant interpretation of Jeff Buckley, in which we can find more three verses.

More love, I have been here before
Já vi esse quarto e já andei neste chão
You know, eu costumava morar sozinho before você
E eu vejo a sua bandeira no arc de marmore
E o love não e uma march da vitória
This Hallelujah cold and departure

Então existiu um tempo em que você let me know
Or what is really happening inside
But agora you never show me isso, não é?
More lembre-I know when I moved to you
E o pomba sagrada was moving too
And all the breathing that we sketched was a Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Maybe there is a Deus acima
More did you learn about love
Foi how to shoot at someone who destroyed you
E não é um choro that you hear a noite
not someone who sees birth
This Hallelujah cold and departure

The additional verses seem to distance each other from a few originals. Ainda keeps the theme of spirituality, porém assumem um tom de confissão e of loving relationship. Or recipient appears as "baby", um nome carinhoso.

Nesta versão, mais que a spiritualidade, or que es em jogo é um love affair. O subject, começa telling us about how he knew that place before he knew or destined.

The second verse is a memory of when or relationship works and the house lived in harmony. Or I sing a reference to a sacred pomba that can be seen as the Holy Spirit. Nessa time of understanding, each breath of the house comes in "Hallelujah", as we are grateful.

The last stanza is a question of faith. In the presence of Deus he was placed in the cause of love is presented as a form of violence e não de paz. The last "Hallelujah" is in a sad way, for someone who, in reality, does not come to light.

Lyrics, an original version by Leonard Cohen

Now, I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing hallelujah

With nothing on my tongue but hallelujah
